Kemp Forum

The Kemp Forum is a debate and discussion series providing a platform for the civil competition of ideas. Based on the premise that ideas, like athletes, become sharper in competition, the Kemp Forum examines cutting edge public policy questions through the kind of restless, spirited debate that Jack Kemp practiced from the heart.

Police Community Relations

To commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, the Jack Kemp Foundation sponsored a focus group for the Kemp Forum on Police Community Relations on January 15 in Suitland, Maryland.

Recent events across the nation have led to heightened tensions between police and the communities they serve, resulting in conflict, hurt, and frustration. The Kemp Forum on Police/Community Relations, moderated by Chris McGoff, CEO and founder of The Clearing, and facilitated by DC street activist Ron Moten, offers a creative approach to building trust and reconciliation. This first meeting brought together citizens from Suitland and members of local law enforcement to learn of and from one another.

Please consider contributing $5000/$500/$50 or even $5 toward our establishing this Kemp Forum on Police Community Relations. We are starting in Prince George’s County and aspire to take the program to cities around the country.

“People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don’t know each other; they don’t know each other because they have not communicated with each other.” — Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
